Top Gear Transmissions offer a friendly and trustworthy specialist service to main dealers, independent repairers and private motorists in Central Scotland. Our many years of experience in the transmission trade enable us to offer you an excellent repair service for any type of transmission in our purpose built Rutherglen workshop. We will always give you an honest diagnosis and a free road test if required.
We draw on over 60 year’s combined experience repairing gearboxes in Scotland offering a range of quality transmission services that cover everything from automatic and manual gearbox problems to axles and clutches. We also carry out repairs on classic car transmissions and have a local machining service available to reclaim worn parts where possible, especially useful when some parts are no longer available.
Repairing your own gearbox usually offers the best value for money, however if the damage is too severe we are able to supply exchange units.
Before any work is undertaken on your gearbox our skilled technicians will always carry out a free check. This will help to clarify whether any gearbox faults are apparent and will determine the nature of the work that may need to be carried out. There is no obligation and we will advise you if you need your gearbox repaired or replaced. We freely give out technical advice, in person, by email or by phone.
